Glad to see you got your iPhone up and running!

I&#039;m concerned for your iPhone though, I run my WiFi in almost exactly the same state, public WAPs, web login required WAPs, and hidden SSID WAPs (though without WEP) and haven&#039;t had your problems.

I also noticed that the first net fetch after waking up can be painfully slow as it turns on the radio (presumably), tries to find a WAP and eventually falls back to EDGE if need be. 

I&#039;m not sure what PTPCamera is, but I turned off the whole launch iPhoto business by turning off launching on plugin in Image Capture -- not exactly an obvious place.
